
A fabric that hand spun in a spinning wheel known as charkha and hand woven from natural fibres. It is hand crafted fabric not even use a single machine. It is also known as khaddar in India. This fabric is not about the only cotton but it is about silk and woollen also.

Is khadi and cotton same? No Khadi and cotton is not same thing. Khadi is a fabric, a handmade fabric and cotton is the type of fabric. Cotton plants grow in farming filed by farmers and after ginning and purifying process when cotton removes from cotton bolls if cotton goes in a machine with other synthetic fibres then it manufactures machine made clothes but if cotton goes in spinning wheel known as charkha then it will make khadi clothes. For both clothes Cotton is same but the process makes difference between khadi cotton clothes and machine made clothes.

Many of the people think it is all about only cotton but silk and woollen are also type of khadi. Silk is obtained from silkworms and the process of making silk is called sericulture and wool is obtained from the body coat of some animals that have fine, soft hair called fleece close to their skin.
