• Pre-wash before stitching: Wash the fabric once in cold water before giving it to your tailor. This helps manage any natural shrinkage in handwoven cotton.
• First wash: Wash separately, as slight colour release can occur in handwoven fabrics.
• Washing: Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent.
• Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals. They can fade the colour and weaken the fibres.
• Drying: Dry in shade rather than in direct harsh sunlight to keep the pink shade fresh.
• Ironing: Iron on medium heat (cotton setting), preferably while the fabric is slightly damp.
• Natural character: Slight variations in weave and texture are a sign of authentic handloom Khadi and are not defects.

Yes. This is 100% handwoven Khadi cotton, and My Khadi Foundation is certified by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Government of India. See our certification.

2. Is the fabric stitched or unstitched?

It is unstitched. You can choose the length you need and get it stitched by your own tailor.

3. What is the width of the fabric?

The fabric is 44 inches wide.

4. Which length should I choose for a shirt or a kurta?

For a gents shirt or short kurta choose 2.30 M, for a gents long kurta or ladies kurta choose 2.75 M, and for a women’s suit or men’s kurta pyjama set choose 5.0 M. You can also refer to the Size Guide on this page.

5. Can I use this fabric for women’s wear?

Yes. The solid pink shade and soft handfeel suit ladies’ kurtas and suits as well. The 2.75 M and 5.0 M lengths are made for this.

6. Will the fabric shrink after washing?

Like most natural handwoven cotton, Khadi can shrink slightly on the first wash. We recommend pre-washing the fabric before stitching.

7. Can I machine wash it?

Yes. You can hand wash or machine wash it with a mild detergent. A gentle cycle is best for a longer life.

8. Will the colour match the photos exactly?

We try to show the colour as accurately as possible, but slight differences may appear due to screen settings and the natural variation of handwoven fabric.

9. Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?

Yes, COD is available. Prepaid orders also get an extra 10% off.

10. How long will delivery take?

Orders are processed in 2-3 business days and usually delivered within 7-8 business days of dispatch in India.
